Japanese Firm Nidec Sets Up AC Mfg Facility With Rs 50cr In Sri City

Hyderabad: Nidec India Pvt Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan-based Nidec Corporation, has started operations of its new manufacturing facility in Sri City. Set up with an initial investment of about Rs 50 crore, the facility will provide jobs to 200 people. The plant, with an annual capacity of six million, will be manufacturing air conditioning motors.
Situated in Sri City’s Domestic Tariff Zone (DTZ), the facility will go for mass production in January 2025. The products manufactured here will support all leading AC brands such as Daikin, Amber, Voltas, and Havells.
Speaking at the event, Hiroshi Kobe, Founding Member and Chairman of Nidec emphasised their dedication to the Indian market and the region’s demand for high-quality motors for home appliances.
“We are proud to partner with Sri City and be part of its thriving industrial community,” he said. Reflecting on the invitation received in 2014 from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Kobe shared, “we are thrilled to launch our plant here and have
ambitious growth plans ahead.”
